"Ed has been my drum teacher for a number of years, since I decided to learn (as an adult) from scratch. What makes him a great teacher is his ability to break complex ideas down to simple elements and help you understand which element is blocking your progress. A genuine passion for what he does makes learning easy and fun.
I also find that he has far more patience with me than I have with myself!
Highly recommended."

“Ed is my drum teacher and mentor. I have had weekly lessons with Ed for over a year, and I would be happy to say he is the best drum teacher that I’ve had.
Having lessons with Ed has pushed my drumming ability to the limit where he helps me tackle tough projects, concepts or exercises; such as helping me achieve Grade 8 in a very short time. He is very patient and kind, which definitely goes a long way when learning an instrument at a high or beginner level. Although Ed is very technical and understands drums and music to the highest level; the best feature of Ed’s lessons is that he makes them highly engaging and stresses the importance to pursue what you love e.g. a project or genre. This drives my passion for drums even further on.
Furthermore, he has been very flexible by working around my schedule and offering one to one lesson’s (at my house or his studio) and online lessons. In his studio he has two kits setup, with one fully mic’d, which makes having online lessons great as the audio quality of him and the drums are clear and professional.
Therefore, I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Ed as a teacher to anyone.”

Ed has been my son’s drum teacher for around 4 years. We are lucky enough to have a drum kit at home and so Ed comes to us on a weekly basis which has been really convenient and easy for us . He is always on time, never in a rush to get away and has never cancelled a lesson without offering an alternative time that works for us.
Even during lockdown, Ed has been a constant by offering remote lessons, which have worked remarkably well and has given my son a bit of normality, continuity and joy during this very strange year.
Ed has been a total inspiration to my son who was 14 when Ed was first recommended to us by a friend. He has such a relaxed yet motivational style, and just exudes a positiveness and pure joy for drumming. My son had tried several instruments and teachers prior to the drums and none ever managed to instil a passion for that instrument like Ed has.
Ed contours the lessons to my sons individual and musical preferences and has taken him from the real basics to techniques and sounds that I have to say sound pretty cool!
My son always looks forward to his lessons and now practices for many hours as his confidence and ability has grown.
Because Ed is a professional drummer, my son both respects and admires Ed’s talent and ability. It is because of that authenticity and the constant encouragement from Ed that Conor has flourished in both personal confidence and drumming ability.
Our entire family enjoy seeing Ed as he brings such positive energy and we always have to drag ourselves out of the room so they can get on with their lesson..
I would highly recommend Ed to anyone who is looking for a drum teacher to rock and inspire!!

“Ed has been teaching my son for over 4 years. We initially started with lessons every 2 to 3 weeks and this has now moved to every week.
My son Kundan really looks forward to his drumming lesson and it is a joy to me to see how much he enjoys Ed’s teaching style.
Frankly I am grateful that we found Ed as Kundan really responds well to the way Ed nurtures his abilities and skills and he is always happy to practice at home during the week( not always good for our ears!) as he wants to improve. I wish he was like this with his schoolwork!!!
During lockdown the lessons moved online and I was surprised by how well this worked. Otherwise we visit his studio where he has the environment set up with two drums kits to aid learning.
I have found Ed to be very easy to work with as he’s always ready on time and has never cancelled a lesson. He has been very accommodating when I’ve had to move lessons due to family commitments.
As a father the best thing I can say is that when I ask my son what his favourite activity of the week without hesitation he replies that it’s his drumming lesson.”

I have been having lessons with Ed for over five years, I am not a drummer but a recorder player who has always struggled with time keeping and a teacher recommended Ed as someone who might be able to help. She was definitely right.
Ed is a great teacher and he tailors the lesson's really effectively to individual pupils and their strengths and weaknesses. He saw really quickly that I need to understand how things work before I can do them. He has spent a lot time making sure that I had a real grasp of the basics and making up for my lack of musical education.
My lessons with Ed were key to me continuing to play the recorder and learning to enjoy playing in consorts. My recorder playing has really developed because my work with Ed has allowed me to focus solely on issues of beat and rhythm. My biggest surprise however, is how much I have come to enjoy drumming, I have missed being able to visit the studio and use the kit during lockdown, though Ed has been extremely inventive with zoom lessons. But I enjoy being in the studio and pretending to be a drummer. I would really recommend Ed as a teacher to anyone trying to get in touch with their inner clock.
