How did I get here?
Well, at the age of 12 a series of random events found me in the ‘drums room’ at school and a friend of mine pushed me fairly hard to have a go.
Once I figured out what to do I was rocking, and straight into my first band.
After years of boring piano, violin and a fair amount of tortuous hymn singing I had found my ‘thing’; I was hooked and years of obsession followed.
Through my teens I bounced from band to band picking up skills from those around me, recording studios and a mountain of pub gigs. Then in my early 20’s I moved to London where I turned my back on all things heavy and got into samba, funk, jazz, and even Ugandan stuff.
I also threw myself into a degree and a masters with top results!
Throughout my 30’s I become an established teacher and professional well known for turning up prepped and on time with a smile on my face.
I’m now 40 and in all honesty I don’t feel too far away from a great scenario other than some more recording and a few new connections with artists and projects.
